Potential role of photobiomodulation as a prevention and treatment strategy for radiation induced fibrosis: a review of effectiveness and mechanisms

The review was prospectively registered on OSF (https://osf.io/ut5fe) on 8th of February 2024. A comprehensive search was performed in five databases (PubMed, Scopus, LILACS, ProQuest, EBSCO) on 19th of February 2024 and rerun on 21st September 2024. The terms used for the search included five variations for radiation induced fibrosis and sixteen variations for photobiomodulation. Boolean operators ‘OR’ was used between variations and ‘AND’ was used between the terms.
