1 Introduction The heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) chaperone plays a pivotal role in the folding, stabilisation and activity of client oncoproteins, preventing proteasomal degradation (Grammatikakis et al. 2002). Amplified expression of heat shock proteins such as Hsp90 within cancer cells is associated with poor prognosis, tumour invasion, treatment resistance and metastasis in a range of human cancer types (Rastogi et al. 2024).
