Andrea Mainardi is a native of Northern Italy and grew up between the town of Bormio and Denver, Colorado. His upbringing allowed Andrea to develop a love for winter sports, especially skiing and snowboarding. Growing up in some of the most famous slopes around the world, Andrea began working as a ski instructor at an early age. This position gave him the opportunity to explore famous slopes and connect with people that share the same love for mountains and winter sports.
His travels around the world, especially in winter- bred places such as Colorado and Bormio, gave Andrea the opportunity to begin photographing scenes from his life on the slopes, as well as daily interactions with vacationers and locals. What began as a hobby, quickly turned into a true passion for Andrea. The past two years he has been attending classes at the University of Colorado Denver, and he hopes to pursue a career in photojournalism- a field that can combine his education background in International Relations and passion for photography.
