Materials composed of block copolymers (BCP) have received considerable attention due to various applications including lithography, nanopatterning, and nanoparticle (NP) design with applications in drug delivery; (1) which stem from their self-assembly capabilities due to the heterogeneity of the BCP chain, leading to periodic structures with well-defined symmetry in the nanoscale.

Block copolymer melts are capable of controlling the location of nanoparticles due to their ability to self-assemble into ordered nanoscopic structures. Thin films offer additional control due to the confinement and surface selectivity.
