Frontier Airlines hopes to get lucky with new service from Bay Area to Las Vegas

Frontier Airlines is returning to Oakland this summer with its first nonstop flights operating to Las Vegas. The Denver, Colorado-based budget airline is expanding at its hub at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas by offering 11 weekly flights to Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport, beginning Aug. 20 at a fare starting at $49. The announcement comes after fellow low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines announced its bankruptcy earlier this year.
