Two Sooke councillors have announced they will run for mayor in this fall’s municipal election. Coun. Al Beddows and Coun. Kevin Pearson will vie to replace Mayor Maja Tait, who has said she will not seek re-election. Beddows, who is in his second term on council, announced his mayoral run Wednesday, following last month’s announcement from Pearson, who is in his third term. Pearson said he would be running for mayor with a slate of six council candidates under the banner Sooke First.
