1 Introduction Superficial foot mycoses (SFM) are the most common skin conditions affecting 3% of the global population with onychomycosis and tinea pedis representing the most prevalent clinical entities. Among the population at risk, footballers are particularly vulnerable due to the warm, moist microenvironment within footwear, repetitive nail and skin trauma associated with high-intensity activity, and communal bathing practices [1, 2].
