As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I loved Episode 1: Racer back in the early 2000s, which remained the only racing game I ever enjoyed — until now. Star Wars: Galactic Racer was one of my most anticipated titles of Summer Game Fest this year, and immediately set a high bar for the impossible-to-please side of my Star Wars fandom (My Dark Side).

From hugely popular multiplayer hits like Marvel Rivals to the ever-expanding cinematic universe, Marvel is everywhere, and the newest Magic: The Gathering set is the latest example of this pop culture domination. Two titans meet as Marvel superheroes – and villains – debut in this highly anticipated release. Whether you're a long-time Magic player or a superhero fanatic, this set has wide appeal and even convinced me to give Magic a serious shot.

Before I went hands-on with Sea of Remnants, I was expecting a dolled-up Sea of Thieves clone focused on sailing the seas as a fabulous pirate. And while I was half right – there's plenty of pirating and plundering to be done – I was caught completely off guard by the game's meshing of serious and absurd tones. From its opening moments, paddling across a serene ocean, it was clear that Sea of Remnants was going to be an unusual experience.
