For the second time in twelve months, Washington State Republican Party Chair Jim Walsh has failed to qualify a sinister voter elimination scheme to the statewide ballot, an important development that is going unnoticed amidst Brian Heywood’s submission of signatures for IP26-645, a measure that seeks to repeal the recently enacted million-dollar earners tax that will generate billions for education, healthcare, human services, and tax fairness beginning in 2029 if it survives being challenged.

Right wing mega-millionaire Brian Heywood’s bid to overturn legislation that would require 20,000 of Washington’s wealthiest individuals to pay a 9.9% tax on incomes above a million dollars a year could be a tough sell with the voting public this autumn, especially given the risk that it could jeopardize more than just that yet-to-be-collected revenue source, the coalition opposing Initiative 645 asserted this week.
