LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - We continue with a First Alert Weather Day today due to cold temperatures, gusty winds and snow showers. Snow accumulations today should be an inch or less, but gusty winds will cause blowing snow and lead once again to slippery roads in many areas. Allow extra time for travel. High temperatures today will be around 15 degrees, but gusty winds will keep wind chills near -10. A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for most Mid-Michigan counties through mid-morning.

Early on, the safety procedures were to bring the kids into a large room like a gym. That way you could count heads, but for this roof to stay up you need all four walls. Even if a section of one wall is damaged, this is no longer a safe place.
