Key findings We used data provided by The UK Colorectal Intelligence Hub from a national cancer data repository (CORECT-R) which uses linked HES data, NCRAS and English NHS BCSP datasets. A significant proportion of cases identified as PCCRCs from population-based data were not true PCCRCs (29/87, 33.3%) when local data was used for root cause analysis. Instead, these cases were detected cancers (17/28) or data errors (12/28).
