ANGELA BUSHESKA: Yeah, absolutely. Thank you so much for having me. Super excited to be here and super excited to have spent three months—time flies!— as a researcher along with the project. So my name is Angela. I am originally from North Macedonia, a very small country next to Greece in the Balkans. And I spent my first, like, 16 years thinking that I would become a mathematician, really focused on math Olympiads.

The Global Innovation Challenge is an annual event run by Social Shifters – a not-for-profit backed by SAP, the UN and Amazon among others that finds, funds and supports the next generation of entrepreneurs. Dear corporates, From climate change and economic uncertainty, to global health issues and war, the world today faces an unprecedented series of challenges.

For nine years of school, I was bullied due to my unique interest in STEM and my body weight. I was often classified as the unwanted kid and the class weirdo, thus being cut off from social groups. In those moments of discouragement and disappointment, I found inspiration and escape in TED Talks.
