Joe Goacher would rather ride his motorcycle, but on most days, he drives a G-Wagon and scribbles in a notebook he carries with him. “I always have my notebook with me, taking notes, looking for a rattle or if it pulls to the right a little bit,” he says with a laugh. That kind of perfectionism has served him well. G-Wagon is slang for Mercedes-Benz’s G-Class, the company’s top-end luxury four-wheel-drive SUV. The G stands for Geländewagen, the German word for terrain vehicle.

April Neuhaus believes homes listed for sale may need a little razzle-dazzle to get attention in this buyer’s market. “Homes with no wow factor…they are just sitting,” says the managing broker for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate – Neuhaus, based in Berthoud. But she also cautions homeowners about how much money they pump into their remodeling projects. Not all garner the same return, and some might not be worth it at all, she says.

As craft breweries try to stand out in a crowded market, they’re finding that the art on the can may be nearly as important as the beer it contains. “Using a local artist makes our brand feel authentic and alive,” says Natalie Yoder, co-owner of Stodgy Brewing Co. in Fort Collins. “An artist brings originality and creative energy that you simply can’t get from something off the shelf.” Breweries have long collaborated with local artists, from painting murals to designing T-shirts for sale.
