93 $100 Drink by: 2026-2038 A change of pace from these guys, the Shiraz here is sourced from McLaren Vale and the wine given extra time in the cellar before release. Deep blood red in colour with a dark russet rim, this is a savoury style of Shiraz, evidenced by the earthy notes which are to the fore. There are hints of mushrooms, coffee grinds, dried herbs, cold tea and black fruits, though the palate moves to a sweet core of chocolate and blackberries.

93 $23 Drink by: 2026-2036 A single vineyard Riesling from the Eden Valley, from what is looking like an exciting vintage, this is excellent value. It comes from free run juice. Very pale yellow in colour, the wine offers lifted aromatics with notes of glacéd lemons, spices, limes, pears, garden herbs and florals. There is good focus at all times, and the intensity is maintained throughout. A line of juicy acidity provides freshness and energy, while the finish lingers pleasantly.

94 $23 Drink by: 2026-2038 Barossa Valley Shiraz, which is the absolute epitome of cracking value, the fruit hails from two vineyards in the Greenock sub-region. Maturation is for a year in seasoned French oak barrels. An inky dense maroon hue with a dark purple rim, the nose is redolent of black fruits, licorice, chocolate, blueberries, cassis and plums. This is a big and bold style of Barossa Valley Shiraz, no hint of shyness here, richly flavoured throughout.
