The Coachella Valley will get even hotter this week, with Thursday forecast to hit 114 to 116 degrees some places - the highest temperatures of the year so far. An extreme heat warning was issued due to the "dangerously hot conditions" from 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 9, according to the National Weather Service. Chandler Price, a National Weather Service meteorologist, said temperatures will gradually rise over that time period. This is much hotter than usual for early July.
