1 Introduction Producing rubber compounds is the first step in production of high-quality elastomer products like seals. Rubber compounds are almost exclusively mixed in discontinuously working internal mixers. This offers, for example, the advantages of high flexibility and the ability to accept a variety of different dosing forms (bales, powder, oil, etc.) [1].
