1 Introduction Deep learning classifiers have been shown to detect complex neurodegenerative diseases, such as Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer's Disease, using structural medical imaging data with high accuracy (Basaia et al. 2019; Umirzakova et al. 2025). Nevertheless, clinical adoption of these models requires consideration of critical challenges beyond improving classification performance.
