Australian independent journalist, writer and researcher who has been based in Mexico City since 2018. I began freelancing full-time in August of 2016 when I covered responses of favela communities to that year's Summer Olympics while living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; at the same time I was learning from the Rio-based NGO Catalytic Communities about the role of international reporting in changing global narratives about stigmatised communities.
