Recently, attorneys with the Bike Law network took a case to a trial against a titan of a defendant: the Texas Department of Transportation. TxDOT was represented by the Attorney General’s Office, one of Texas’ largest legal teams. We had a great client, but it was a tough case to prove. So tough, in fact, that TxDOT offered nothing to settle the case before trial.

At 5:13 pm on September 12, 2016, a bicyclist was doored at 2359 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago. The cyclist — our client — suffered an injury to his right ear. The officer who responded to the scene refused to take a police report; she let the driver leave without taking any of her information. So now, we have no idea who the driver is because the officer refused to do her job.
