Gatherings, a local antique shop, is closing its south store at 1009 S. Austin Ave., Georgetown, and moving all pieces to its current sister store at 701 N. Austin Ave., Georgetown. The south location's last day open will be Aug. 3. Gatherings’ new store hours at the north location, which has been open for almost two years, are Wed.-Sat.

Local nonprofit The Caring Place began construction July 31 to expand its donations warehouse, temporarily affecting the organization’s donation hours and drop-off location while the project is underway. Two-minute impact The construction will enclose the existing donations warehouse, make it level against the slope it’s on, add 5,000 square feet and install air conditioning, The Caring Place Executive Director Ginna O’Connor said.
