Left behind: Pets suffer as ICE raids disrupt immigrant families in Minnesota
Immigrant families, especially those whose members have been detained or deported, have suffered greatly during the federal immigration crackdown in Minnesota. But Operation Metro Surge’s collateral damage goes beyond affected families — to their beloved pets. In neighborhoods like St. Paul’s Frogtown, among the state’s oldest immigrant communities, animal rescue organizations have seen a surge in the number of pets needing care, left behind when their humans were suddenly detained.
When art gives back
As a sophomore in the creative writing program at The Kinkaid School, I have learned how powerful storytelling can be for young writers. Although many may assume publishing is mainly for adults with a writing career, I have firsthand experience with how accessible it can be for teens, especially through self-publication. I have made it my mission to help other students write, be creative, and become published authors.

Teaching Asian American history provides a path to a more fair U.S. Original
When I first arrived on Davidson's campus as a visiting assistant professor of Asian American history, I was fresh out of graduate school and burned out from finishing my dissertation in time to start my new job. Like any new professor, I had a litany of anxieties, the most pressing of which was what my students would call me. Should I let my students call me "Anna," my easily pronounceable "American" name? Or should I opt for the hard-earned, and even harder to pronounce title, "Professor Nguyen"?
Consecrated Life: A Call to Comfort God’s People
Consecrated life is a call from God to a lifetime of radical discipleship shaped by the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obedience, commonly known as religious vows. These vows are not simply vows, but a way of life aims to embody the life of Jesus Christ on earth while giving witness to a prophetic message of hope anchored in the promises for a life of happiness with God. Consecrated life is a journey to be walked, not alone, but in communion with all heading toward heaven.
When Hyperhidrosis Means Something Serious Original
Did you recently start excessively sweating even in comfortable temperatures? Do you wake up at night soaked in sweat? These may be signs of secondary hyperhidrosis -- excessive sweating due to medications or a medical condition. Normally, your body sweats to regulate its temperature, and you sweat more during exercise, hot conditions, and stressful situations. Your body cools down as sweat evaporates from the skin.

Creativity and community
I have been interested in creative writing for as long as I can remember. I like writing fiction because it helps me stimulate my creative mind, practice using my imagination, and express myself. In order to sharpen my creative writing skills, I took a summer course at Johns Hopkins Center of Talented Youth and a creative writing class at The Kinkaid School. From these courses, I have learned to love writing poems and short stories.

A Closer Look: IEM Gyeonggi
What would be more fitting than the next Intel Extreme Masters taking place at what people consider home of esports - IEM Gyeonggi in Korea features League of Legends, Overwatch and StarCraft II. The last few months of a year are the calmest in esport, usually. Most tournament series built up over the year to discharge in one monumental, concluding event where the world’s best gamers are determined. It’s no different in StarCraft 2.
