INTRODUCTION Climate change is predicted to increase the risk of summer droughts and other extreme weather conditions. These changes may alter the composition, structure and function of soil microbial community and enzyme production, and ultimately affect soil C and nutrient cycling (Bogati & Walczak, 2022; Li et al., 2024; Venäläinen et al., 2020; Xu et al., 2021).
