Waymo expands Houston service area ahead of FIFA World Cup Original

HOUSTON — Waymo has expanded its autonomous vehicle service area in Houston to nearly 50 square miles, adding neighborhoods like EaDo, the Texas Medical Center and Northeast Houston, the company announced. Former Magnolia ISD 2nd grade teacher arrested on felony charge alleging improper relationship with students

MAGNOLIA, Texas — A former second-grade teacher at Magnolia Parkway Elementary School was arrested Thursday on a felony charge alleging an improper relationship with students, according to Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constables. Jason Tomas Maldonado, 40, of Magnolia, was taken into custody after meeting with investigators at the Child Protective Services Office.

Freeport pauses seaweed cleanup at Bryan Beach to protect nesting sea turtles

The City of Freeport is asking beachgoers to bear with the current state of Bryan Beach, where accumulated seaweed is being left in place to protect nesting sea turtles and their hatchlings. City officials said Friday they are temporarily unable to remove seaweed using heavy equipment because of environmental protections currently in effect.
