Credit: Arne Hoel/The World Bank. It’s hard to imagine that there are still girls today that have never seen the inside of a classroom. Never sat at a desk anticipating the day’s lessons. Never felt the white crisp paper underneath their fingertips. Never learned to read and write. And are likely never to do so.

As a news journalist and producer it is often difficult to find a moment to breath, think, feel or even write this piece of writing. However, I am determined to breathe, to rise above the waves and exhale taking in my moments, and thus taking all that I am at this moment, right now, right here. Not tomorrow, not yesterday but today. This practise of living has recently been called Mindfulness the latest practice for mental wellbeing. Mindfulness is a very simple concept.
