The turtleneck was a good call. Standing atop of Shandon Hill on a windy February day warrants layers and, had I thought of it, those nifty heat patches from Dealz. Still and all, it wasn’t raining…yet. As photoshoots go, this was my first for the Irish Examiner on the other side of the camera in Cork. Having recently moved from Dublin, I went from blow-in to blown-out of it as our #BTS shots on Instagram hilariously demonstrate.

Most folks put foodstuffs and ice-cubes in the freezer, at times a warm bottle of wine when needs must. I, on the other hand, use mine to kill moths – all of the fecking moths. Allow me to elaborate. These winged creatures are like kryptonite to clothing, especially anything vintage, cashmere, wool or silk. They’ve got fancy pants taste, God bless them.

I’m not a quitter. Granted, I am a staunch believer in the art of letting go (hello, decluttering!) but only when something has outlived its sell-by-date. When something is brand spanking new and in need of a good wearing, I take an active interest in fulfulling its manifest destiny. You can imagine my chagrin, when gifted this summer dress by my sister, to discover the weather had other plans for it – namely to sit pretty in my wardrobe. That was over a month ago.
