Introduction Chemotherapy remains the cornerstone of treatment for most pediatric cancers, acting by inhibiting cell division or directly killing malignant cells. Globally, over 400,000 children and adolescents aged 0–19 years are diagnosed with cancer annually.1 In Tanzania, an estimated 4000 to 4500 children are diagnosed each year.2 Common childhood cancers in the country include leukemia, brain tumors, lymphomas, and solid tumors such as neuroblastoma and Wilms’ tumor.
