The Marlins could get Eury Pérez back from the 15-day injured list as soon as next week. The 6’8″ righty tossed 3 2/3 innings and 51 pitches in a rehab start with Triple-A Jacksonville yesterday. Manager Clayton McCullough told reporters (including Christina De Nicola and Shanthi Sepe-Chepuru of MLB.com) that Pérez will throw a pitch design session in the next few days and may not need another minor league start before he rejoins the MLB rotation.

Blue Jays To Reinstate Lazaro Estrada From 60-Day Injured List Original

The Blue Jays will reinstate right-hander Lazaro Estrada from the 60-day injured list, reports Francys Romero. Toronto has a couple openings on the 40-man roster after recently designating Yariel Rodríguez and Connor Seabold for assignment. Estrada also has a couple options remaining, so the Jays wouldn’t need any corresponding moves if they simply keep him in Triple-A on an optional assignment.

Rangers Outright Michel Otañez Original

The Rangers sent reliever Michel Otañez outright to Triple-A Round Rock, per the MLB.com transaction log. Texas designated him for assignment last weekend when they selected Joe Ross onto the MLB roster. It’s the first career outright for Otañez, who’ll accordingly need to accept the minor league assignment. The 28-year-old (29 next month) has spent the entire season in Round Rock despite previously holding a spot on the 40-man roster.
