Homer’s Neighborhood Bar Bottles a Bygone Era

This pen has been stolen from: Homer’s Neighborhood Bar. Those words appear on the pen I used to sign my first bar tab at (where else?) Homer’s, about a year ago. After recognizing that the man behind the bar was the Homer, I acted quickly. When he turned his back I scribbled a note—“I stole your pen”—which I left with a dollar. I pocketed the pen and then stayed away for nearly a year. This past March I started showing up but never saw Homer. But I did notice that little had changed.
