Procedures All participants performed the experiment in a single session lasting approximately 30 minutes. Hearing assessment (otoscopy, tympanometry and pure tone audiometry). Each test session commenced with a full clinical hearing assessment which included otoscopy, tympanometry, and pure-tone audiometry; all procedures followed guidelines published by the British Society of Audiology [18, 19].
