Qubit engineering is an emerging research area for designing quantum information (QI) devices for quantum sensing, (1) quantum cryptography, (2,3) quantum networking, (4) and quantum computing. (5−7) Current state-of-the-art quantum computers are built on superconducting qubits with fast gate operations but suffer from the lack of completely stable and noise-free energy transitions needed for large-depth quantum algorithms.
