1 INTRODUCTION Marine fog is a complex phenomenon influenced by a wide range of scales, from the synoptic to the microscale (Gultepe et al., 2007; Koračin et al., 2014), similar to phenomena like hurricanes and extratropical cyclones. In marine fog, small-scale processes, such as shoreline sea breezes and longwave radiative cooling, play a crucial role in modulating fog formation at scales ranging from micrometers to kilometers.
