1 Introduction Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is currently the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths, with a grim five-year survival rate of only about 10% (1, 2). The incidence of PDAC has been increasing, paralleling the growing prevalence of risk factors such as smoking, obesity, and diabetes (3). Although early detection can significantly improve survival rates, most patients with PDAC are diagnosed at an advanced stage, when metastasis has already occurred (4).
