Where and When to Stream ‘The Drama’
The Drama with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson is already one of those movies where people are making a big deal about a ~twist~ that you apparently do not want to have spoiled. So, if you do have the means to see it in theaters, that is my professional advice. Don’t get caught up in The Drama FOMO drama! That said, we all lead very different lives. Many of us need to stream The Drama and that’s okay too.

‘Eddington’ review by jmeshew • Letterboxd
What the fuck was this movie? I waited a long time to watch this because the trailers simply looked like something I wouldn't enjoy, and that instinct was correct. I understand what Aster's going for, and I guess he succeeds, but this was a deeply off-putting film for me, and not even in a way that makes me think or reconsider anything. But maybe that's just because this hit close to home and I've considered all the various things on offer here already.

Eddington ★★★ Liked An absurdist Western set during the COVID 2020 lockdowns that leans heavily into the hysteria of that time without ever really honing in on an interesting commentary on any of it. Well made but the pacing was off and it never really decides just what characters are deserving of its cutting commentary.

Eddington ★★★★ Over the last few years, it feels like most projects that dared to mention/showcase the implications and experience of covid on screen have been quickly dismissed, as if the matter had crossed the line into being a full-fledged taboo subject. Admittedly by myself too. this does not sugarcoat anything.
Eddington: conspiracy and dread in small-town USA

This time, it’s the year 2020. It’s May 2020 in the New Mexico town of Eddington, we meet Sheriff Joe Cross (Joaquin Phoenix).

was kinda wary where this was going in the 1st third but it boils into this powder keg of conflicting ideologies and anger that no one truly cares about beyond their own personal gain and grievances. when there is an overload of information comes a dissolution of truth and people more powerful than us can create whatever narrative they want as long as it fills their pockets and creates their own utopia with no regard for the personal lives they destroy creating it.
‘Eddington’ review by Matthew Kelly • Letterboxd
Eddington ★★★ It's not a surprise that a movie about the pandemic would also feel incredibly cynical and while I don't think a movie can't have that viewpoint, tying every character to a real political ideology makes this feel like one of those episodes of South Park where the moral of the story is "everyone who cares about a thing is dumb". I don't think there's a single main character who isnt either out of touch with reality or trying to get one over on everyone else.
