Belmont’s Curse Taught Me An Important Lesson About Parrying, Namely I Should Do It More Original
Belmont’s Curse is not for the easily overwhelmed. At any given time, the game requires me to track rooms full of arrows, laser beams, axes, icicles, boulders, and birds, any one of which could be hurtling toward my person and often all of them are at once. Thankfully, protagonist Rose Belmont has been gifted with an arsenal of tools to assist her deadly travels in Casa de Dracula, but again: overwhelmed.

SonicFox Reminds Everyone They’re Based, Backing Out Of A Gaming Convention Over An AI-Generated Promo
Dominique “SonicFox” McLean has backed out of Nexcon 2026 after seeing promotional material for the event that used AI to generate the fighting game pro’s likeness. The flyer seemed entirely AI-generated, including slopified renderings of other creators who would be in attendance. Once SonicFox got wind of the promo, they immediately cancelled their appearance. “Update: Contract terminated and no longer attending! :3,” they posted on X.
The Final Fantasy 14 Typing Minigame Isn’t Even Out Yet And It’s Already Pissing Players Off
Earlier this year, Final Fantasy XIV announced that it would feature several crossover events with Square Enix’s other golden goose IP, the Final Fantasy VII remake project. In addition to featuring a raid series themed around the remake trilogy, the MMO would also add a new minigame to Gold Saucer which, like its FF7 counterpart, is a place where Eorzeans can gamble gil and partake in other leisurely, less world-savey pursuits.

But there seems to be one guy that everyone goes apeshit for: the man, the myth, the fucking legend, Guzran. He’s got all kinds of nicknames, from the Guzlord to the Guzzler, and he’s popular enough to get memed as though he were the Dagosian equivalent of Chuck Norris if you’re old enough to remember that particular piece of internet meme culture.

Mix ‘Coffin Flop’ With QWOP And You’ve Got A Game That’s At The Top Of My Steam Next Fest List Original
With an unmanageably colossal heap of demos on offer, a massive number of which look to be filled with AI-generated garbage, the current Steam Next Fest is a serious bummer. How on earth is any adult with limited free time supposed to muck through the stables of slop to find something worthwhile?
This Love And Deepspace / Blade Runner 2049 Event Is Either An Unfortunate Coincidence Or An Elaborate Troll
Love And Deepspace, the mobile game that serves players sweet, romantic, and sometimes horny fantasies featuring five hunks of grade-A quality man, hasn’t wholly recovered from the social and economic battering it took when the developers released, then un-released its sixth love-interest, Valko. His fiercely loyal cadre of fans have dug in their heels, remaining committed to not spending a dime on the gacha game until he is re-released.

So What Are We Supposed To Take Away From You Can See Everything ? Original
So, You Can See Everything, huh? A few of us here at Kotaku saw Nathan Fielder’s documentary about Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, a health tech company that was shut down after Holmes was convicted of defrauding investors in 2018. The basis of the accusations was that the company’s signature device, which Theranos claimed could accurately conduct a vast assortment of blood tests on a single drop of blood, didn’t work as investors were led to believe.
Penguin Colony Developers Talk The BDS Talk And Walk The Walk By Banning The Game For Sale In Israel
I make it a habit to watch the credits of a game I finish, both out of respect for the people who made it and to see if the developers hid any little stingers at the end, a result of our culture’s many years of conditioning by the MCU movies. And for Penguin Colony, the game that’s essentially At the Mountains of Madness by way of March of the Penguins, there was a stinger, just not the kind I was expecting.
The Most Terrifying Object In You Can See Everything Isn’t Elizabeth Holmes’ Unblinking Eyes, It’s A Bowl Of Eggs Original
Watching You Can See Everything in a semi-crowded theater was the most kinetic, interactive experience I’ve ever had watching a simple movie…and I’ve been to a Rocky Horror Picture Show screening, crowd participation and all. I gasped, exclaimed, and clawed at my husband as we turned inside out in our seats, both riveted and repulsed by what we were seeing on screen. Is it the movie of the year? Definitely. Does it accomplish what it attempts? Maybe. Maybe not.

Castlevania ‘s Most Iconic Song Should Chain Whip Me To Death, Not Put Me In A Thousand Year Sleep Original
As I continue my way through Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (now blessedly disentangled from the platforming challenge that hemmed me up earlier this week), I find myself really vibing with the game’s soundtrack. The sound team at Evil Empire chose to go with an eclectic downtempo collection of work that feels in tune with the current musical zeitgeist, obsessed with the Lofi Girl and her many musical siblings.

The Ocarina Of Time Remake Doesn’t Do Everyone’s Favorite Bombchu-Bowling Baddie Justice
There’s one Ocarina of Time character who, more than any other, I’ve been looking forward to seeing in the new remake: The Bombchu Bowling Alley Operator. She is my hero, somehow managing to pull off the radical act of rest while that carnival funhouse song is blaring over her establishment’s speakers. And! She’s a stone-cold fucking baddie. The crop top! The blue pixie cut with the side bangs! Those douyin-style lips! Baddie all the way down.
Link Can Blow Up Boulders With Water In Newly Discovered Ocarina Of Time Glitch
Glitch hunters are video games’ most patient, dedicated soldiers, because how on earth are new tricks being discovered for a pair of games both old enough to rent a car? Earlier this week, Ocarina of Time glitch hunters discovered that if you attack a boulder and, at the exact moment the attack animation ends, you get Link to dump a bottle of water (or bugs), the boulder instantly blows up. The glitch has already been catalogued by Zelda Speedruns, which has a technical breakdown of how it works.

How Over-reliance On Google Calendar Ruined My Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Playthrough Original
Time blindness in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is a deadly affliction, causing me more pain in what’s already been a less than amazing experience. Like most folks with busy lives and social obligations, if it ain’t on the calendar, it does not exist to me. And even then, without several notifications ticking down to the appointed time, warning me “Hey, you better clear a block of time for this important thing,” stuff still gets missed or forgotten about.
