Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

I interned at Louisville.com, where I eventually became a contributing writer, and eventually staff writer for a total of three years.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Actually, yes. My mother gave me her typewriter that she used in high school. I love it.

Why did you become a journalist?

I love sharing stories about people that can hopefully have a larger impact than just being tossed in the recycling bin the next day.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I went to a small Catholic school-- we're talking 16 per graduating class, half of whom were on the fencing team. No paper there.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

As I am still aspiring myself, I hope to continue collecting such sage advice from more experienced writers.
