Thursday will be a comfortable day, but the temperatures will trend a tad cooler than Wednesday temperatures. The highs will fall to the 60s and low to mid-70s, the skies will remain sunny to mostly sunny, and the wind will be on the lighter side. A few passing showers are likely over southeast Montana tonight into tomorrow morning. Friday is the start of a "warm-up" for areas west of the Divide and in portions of southwest and north-central Montana.

Strong to Severe Storms Possible

Thursday strong to severe storms are possible over central and eastern Montana. Storms will again move from the west to the east. Storms will be scattered in nature and have the ability to produce gusty wind, quarter-size hail, and frequent lightning. It's always good to remember lightning can often strike miles away from the initial storm. The high temperatures will spend another day in the mid to upper 70s and low 80s.

Rain Continues Through the Start of the Weekend

Friday expect mostly cloudy skies, cool temperatures, more rain, and breezy conditions. The high temperatures will remain in the 50s and 60s. Morning showers will become scattered in nature during the afternoon. Another disturbance moves in and kicks off showers and thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday. As the rain continues in the lower elevations, the mountains of south-central Montana will get snow. Central and eastern Montana will have more wind on tap than areas west of the Divide.
