What was your first job as a journalist?
I was an intern at KWCH in Wichita. I was lucky. I joined the university newspaper, The Sunflower, a few months later.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Zoom recorder, mics, Canon Rebel, Adobe CC, Otter.ai, Pocket app, Grammarly, Anchor.fm.
What's your favorite social network?
Bluesky for the moment.
Why did you become a journalist?
I am naturally curious. I’ve always been a “communicator”- asking questions and wanting to understand. I just embraced my inner storyteller.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No.
