Soybeans Posts Friday Strength as USDA Shows Better Than Expected Report

Soybeans closed the Friday session with contracts up fractionally in some deferred to as much as 16 ¾ cents. September closed the week with a 55 ½ cent rally, as November was up 43 cents. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price was up 13 3/4 cents at $11.45 3/4. Soymeal futures were $2.80 to $3.80 higher across most contracts, as September rallied $14.90 this week. Soy Oil futures were 11 to 54 points higher, as September was 369 points higher on the week.

Corn Rallies on Friday with the Help of a Bull Friendly USDA Report

Corn bulls found their footing on Friday following friendlier than expected USDA data. Contracts were up 2 ½ to 10 ¼ cents across the board, led by the front months. September was 16 ½ cents higher this week, with December up 19 ½ cents. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price was 7 3/4 cents higher at $4.09 1/2. The monthly WASDE report from this morning showed US corn stocks for 2025/26 down 125 mbu from last month to 2.02 bbu.

Hogs Closed Mixed on Friday, as Pork Sees Some Strength

Lean hog futures continued the mixed trend this week with contracts up 85 to 67 cents lower. August was up 25 cents on the week. USDA’s national base hog price was up $1.25 in the Friday PM report at $98.30. The CME Lean Hog Index was 37 cents higher on July 8 at $92.35. The weekly CFTC Commitment of Traders report showed managed money adding another 1,635 contracts to their near net short position in the week of July 7. That took the net short to 29,002 contracts.
