New principal announced for Cedar Ridge Elementary in Columbia

The Columbia School Board approved Cynthia Martin as the new Cedar Ridge Elementary School principal for the 2026-27 school year, according to a news release from Columbia Public Schools. Martin will replace current Principal Carlei Wies, who announced she would be leaving the role earlier in the year. Martin has worked for Columbia Public Schools throughout her entire career.

Bagnell Dam Boulevard in Lake Ozark to close next week

Bagnell Dam Boulevard, or Business Route 54, in Lake Ozark is scheduled to close Wednesday and Thursday for permit work, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Transportation. The closure starts at Valley Road and extends to Route W, according to the release. It is expected to last from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days, May 20 and 21. Local property owners will be able to access their driveways, but all other drivers will need to seek an alternate route, the release said.

Cynthia Martin will be the new Cedar Ridge Elementary School principal for the 2026-27 school year, according to a news release from Columbia Public Schools. Martin will replace current Principal Carlei Wies, who announced she would be leaving the role earlier in the year. Martin has worked for Columbia Public Schools throughout her career. She is currently the assistant principal of both Grant Elementary School and New Haven Elementary School, according to the news release.
