Results of Platelet‐Rich Fibrin Application in Pharyngeal Reconstruction After a Total Laryngectomy

Pharyngocutaneous fistula (PCF) is one of the most challenging complications observed after a total laryngectomy, therefore it should be carefully monitored, and preventive measures should be taken during short-term patient follow-ups. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is composed of various cytokines and growth factors effective on healing processes. To see pharyngeal healing after total laryngectomy procedure, PRF was applied on pharyngeal “T” suturing line. PRF may be effective on preventing PCF.
