The electric vehicle charging network in Washington state is expanding thanks to over $37 million in funding from the Washington State Department of Commerce, according to a June 9 announcement. The grants, which come from several different state programs, will support 104 EV charging projects across the state that will yield 754 new charging ports on line by late 2027. The funding was awarded to 43 organizations through the Washington Electric Vehicle Charging Program.

Avista Utilities has halted talks with a customer proposing a 500-MW data center as the utility seeks “broader policy and community alignment,” the company announced June 12.
