Why was the study undertaken? To investigate if individuals with skin disease are at a higher risk of death by suicide? What does this study add? In this systematic review and meta-analysis, hidradenitis suppurativa and melanoma had a higher risk of death by suicide. Death by suicide remains ambiguous in dermatitis, psoriasis and non-melanoma skin cancer. What are the implications of this study for disease understanding and/or clinical care?
