Data analysis Responses to the choice tasks were summarised using choice probabilities. Experimental choices were modelled using mixed multinomial logit models (see technical details in the online supplemental material). All attributes were included using dummies in the model specification with constraints for inconsistent attribute levels. An additional term was introduced in the model to capture the value of the palliative scenario that was used to estimate the model for the final algorithm.
