Discussion As HIV can be considered a chronic disease when HIV viral replication is durably suppressed, prolonged life together with persistent damages in the immune system, high prevalence of persistent oncogenic viruses and increased exposure hazards have moved cancer as a leading cause of death in PWH and a new challenge for clinical management of both entities, cancer and HIV.
