Understanding and formalizing cooperative problem planning and solving is a challenging and worthy task. This paper, building on Grosz's decade-long involvement in this area of AI research, is a further step in the right direction. The authors introduce a framework that allows more accurate specification of the mental attitudes and capabilities to act that individual operators must have in order to participate in collaborative tasks.
