Congratulations to “Balls of Fire,” the new bocce champions. After an eight-week season, the playoff was May 17. The winning team of Peter Gelwaks, Joe Cook, Tom Littleton and Lee Herman took home the trophies. Peter said, “We were six and one going into Saturday's contest and managed to win all three games against tough competitors.” Congratulations to all the teams that played. All are welcome to join bocce by registering at the Racquet Club.

The month of May was busy, busy with tennis and pickleball. Tennis players were grateful for the Indoor Courts for sure, as May was a rainy month. The clay courts require a lot of attention and the rain certainly damages the surfaces. No doubt, Grandparents will have some partners for play this summer, as Tennis Camp is totally full. John Murphy provided a free Beginners Pickleball Class, and to make it even more fun Jessica Carson provided wine, beer and snacks for an afterparty.

February isn’t a month that comes to mind when you think of racquet sports, but In Big Canoe, February was a “Love” month for the club. First off, we had some beautiful weather (can we say fake spring) which brought folks out to play. The week of rain dampened spirits a bit but the tennis players headed to the inside courts and the pickleball courts were blown dry and the fun resumed. Feb. 7 kicked off the Valentine's spirit with a day of celebration.
