DOJ files suit against six states that refused to share voter data
by Barbara Barrett, Ohio Capital Journal September 29, 2025 The U.S. Department of Justice announced Thursday it is suing six states — California, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania — that have refused to turn over detailed voter roll data demanded by federal attorneys earlier this year. The Justice Department has reached out to more than half the states in recent months for voter lists, and has indicated it plans to contact all of them.
