Study Limitations and Future Directions One limitation of the study is related to the used working fluid, i.e., a saline solution, which only approximates the electrical conductivity of the blood [20]. Data from the National Institute of Standards and Technology indicate a conductivity of κ = 14.5 mS/cm for a 0.9% saline solution at 22 °C, which corresponded to a resistance of 76 Mohm.
