1. Foreword: Biophysical Approaches to Answer Which Questions? During the last two to three decades, as researchers in the GPCR area, we saw a profound evolution in the study of these membrane-bound proteins. It started with the description of whole genomes and the systematic comparison of sequences that revealed the remarkable conserved topology of this exceptionally large family of proteins.
