Clinical implications Therapists should prioritize identifying and addressing avoidance-based attachment styles in older clients, given their increased prevalence. The link between avoidant attachment styles and higher cognitive reserve suggests that incorporating behavioral strategies to boost cognitive reserve could be beneficial.
